Cutting Depth: 3/8"
Classification: Standard (Yellow)
The Rabbeting Router Bit is an essential joinery tool for woodworkers and cabinetmakers, specifically engineered to
cut a precise, step-shaped recess—known as a rabbet or rebate—along the edge or end of a workpiece.
This bit is characterized by an integrated ball-bearing pilot, which rides directly against the edge of your
material to guide the cut, ensuring a consistent and clean shoulder for the rabbet. It is the go-to solution for
efficiently creating strong lap joints, cutting the recesses needed for cabinet backs, and producing perfectly sized
inset doors and drawer fronts.
For maximum versatility, many rabbeting bits come as a set with interchangeable bearings of varying diameters,
allowing a single bit to quickly and accurately produce multiple rabbet widths and depths to suit the precise
requirements of any joint or decorative molding detail.
Application:
- Router bits are for use with router machines only.
- Be sure that at least 3/4 of the shaft length is inserted into the router collet.
- Do not ‘bottom-out’ the bit in the collet. The shank should be 1/8′ from the bottom of the collet.
- Route in two or more passes when large amounts of stock must be removed.
