Unlike conventional round dowels, the distinctive elongated DOMINO cross-section provides a large gluing area and exceptional resistance to twisting. Festool's projecting guide ribs centre each dowel precisely in the routed mortise, while specially shaped glue pockets and longitudinal grooves distribute adhesive throughout the joint and allow excess glue to escape. This combination creates an extremely secure connection while making assembly fast and forgiving. The 8 x 40 mm size can be used with Festool DOMINO DF 500, DF 500 R, cordless DFC 500 and DOMINO XL DF 700 joining machines using the appropriate cutter and mortise settings.
