Maykestag Solid Carbide Corner Radius End Mill 4mm R1 Speedcut Universal ALUNIT-S Professional 4mm Speedcut Universal solid carbide corner radius end mill with a precise 1mm corner radius, long-series neck-relieved design, 4 flutes, unequal 35°–38° spiral angles and ALUNIT-S® coating for high-performance milling. The Maykestag Code 6447 Speedcut Universal is a precision HPC milling cutter engineered for productive machining across a broad range of engineering materials. This 4mm version combines solid carbide construction with a generous 1mm corner radius, a relieved neck and four cutting flutes, producing a strong and stable cutting geometry for profiling, contouring, shoulder milling and other demanding precision milling operations. Its unequal 35°–38° spiral geometry provides a progressive cutting action, while the long-series neck-relieved construction gives valuable clearance behind the cutting section. Manufactured to DIN 6527 L , the cutter features a cylindrical DIN 6535-HA shank and Maykestag's specified ALUNIT-S® coating. Why use a corner radius end mill? A corner radius end mill combines the useful flat cutting face of an end mill with a defined radius between the end cutting edge and the outside diameter. The radius eliminates the fragile sharp corner of a conventional square-end cutter and produces a stronger cutting-edge transition. The 1mm radius on this 4mm cutter provides a substantial radiused corner, making it particularly useful for machining stronger internal fillets, contoured profiles and shoulders where a smooth transition is required. Product highlights • 4mm cutting diameter: Versatile precision cutter for profiling, contouring, shoulder milling and general CNC machining. • 1mm corner radius: Provides a pronounced controlled radius while reinforcing the cutting corner. • VHM solid carbide: Manufactured from solid carbide for excellent rigidity, dimensional stability and professional machining performance. • Speedcut Universal: Part of Maykestag's versatile Speedcut Universal range for machining a broad selection of engineering materials. • HPC geometry: High-performance cutting geometry designed for productive milling under suitable machining conditions. • 4-flute design: Four cutting edges provide productive material removal and stable milling performance. • Unequal spiral angles: 35°–38° unequal spiral geometry provides a progressive cutting action. • Neck-relieved construction: The reduced 3.60mm neck diameter provides clearance behind the cutting section for improved accessibility. • ALUNIT-S® coating: Maykestag's specified coating for the Code 6447 Speedcut Universal series. • DIN 6527 L: Long-series end mill manufactured to the specified DIN dimensional standard. • DIN 6535-HA shank: Precision cylindrical HA shank for accurate holding in suitable toolholding systems. • Precision radius tolerance: Corner radius manufactured to a specified tolerance of ±0.005mm. Why Choose Maykestag? Maykestag cutting tools are developed for professional machining environments where geometry, dimensional accuracy and repeatable performance matter. The Speedcut family combines precisely defined cutter geometries with high-performance tool materials and specialised coatings, helping machinists select the correct tool for both the machining operation and workpiece material. The Code 6447 Speedcut Universal series combines solid carbide construction, ALUNIT-S® coating, unequal spiral geometry and a neck-relieved long-series design. This 4mm version features four cutting flutes and a precisely manufactured 1mm corner radius, creating a robust and versatile milling cutter for profiles, shoulders and contoured features where cutting-edge strength, accessibility and dimensional accuracy are important. Built for Precise Universal Milling The combination of the 4mm cutting diameter, 1mm corner radius and relieved 3.60mm neck gives this cutter an excellent balance of cutting-edge strength and accessibility. Its four-flute configuration provides multiple cutting edges for productive milling, while the unequal 35°–38° spiral angles support a smooth, progressive cutting action. When used with the correct spindle speed, feed rate, toolholding and machining strategy, the Code 6447 is designed to deliver accurate and repeatable milling performance across its recommended material groups.
